Caravan Mosaic Box
One of a kind
Made by hand in a family workshop in Damascus.
This rectangular vintage mosaic box dates from 1970. On the lid, two camels, a Bedouin traveler and a date palm are inlaid in mother-of-pearl, set among eucalyptus, rose, beech, walnut, lemon and yellow pine woods in warm tones.
Inside, a wine-red velvet lining holds jewelry and keepsakes. It suits everyday use or display.
