Every Damascus Box piece is handcrafted in Damascus, Syria, and dispatched from our base in Berlin, Germany. Each order is inspected and carefully packed before it leaves us.
Below you will find our processing times, delivery estimates, shipping rates and customs information.
1. Processing Time
Orders are prepared and dispatched within 1–2 business days after payment is confirmed. Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding German public holidays.

Delivery times are counted from dispatch, not from the moment the order is placed. All timings are estimates and not guarantees. Delivery may take longer due to customs clearance, public holidays, remote destinations or local carrier conditions.
We also offer Express Shipping via DHL or UPS:

3. Shipping Rates and Free Shipping
- Shipping within Germany is free on orders from €99.
- Shipping to most other destinations is free on orders from €200 (the United States is an exception — see below).
- Below these thresholds, shipping is calculated at checkout based on your destination.

Express Shipping is not currently available to Asia. For the United States, Express Shipping is offered as Expedited Shipping — see the rates below.
United States: shipping to the United States is not included in the free-shipping offer above and is priced by order value:

These rates include U.S. customs duties and import taxes — U.S. customers are not charged anything extra on delivery, just as within the EU.
Rates shown are for standard-sized items; larger or heavier pieces may carry an adjusted rate, shown at checkout before payment.
4. Carrier and Sustainable Delivery
Orders are shipped with DHL using DHL GoGreen, a carbon-reduced service, so that your piece travels with a lower transport footprint. Orders to the United States are shipped via Expedited Shipping, and some international destinations are served by DHL partner carriers on the final leg.
5. Tracking Your Order
As soon as your order is dispatched, we send a shipping confirmation by email containing your tracking number and a link to follow the shipment. Tracking data can take up to 24 hours to appear after the label is created. If your tracking has not updated within a few days, write to us and we will follow it up with the carrier.
6. Customs, Duties and Import Taxes
Damascus Box is registered in Germany as a Kleingewerbe operating under the small business regulation (Kleinunternehmerregelung, § 19 UStG). For this reason no VAT is charged on our orders.
Orders shipped outside the European Union may be subject to import duties, customs charges, handling fees or local sales taxes on arrival. These charges are set by the destination country and are payable by the customer — with one exception: for orders shipped to the United States, import duties and customs fees are prepaid by Damascus Box and already included in the shipping cost, so U.S. customers are not charged anything extra on delivery, the same as within the EU. Outside this exception, we cannot calculate or refund these charges, and we are not able to mark shipments as gifts or declare a lower value. If a parcel is refused or abandoned at customs, any return and handling costs may be deducted from a refund.
7. Addresses, Delays and Lost Parcels
- Please check your delivery address carefully at checkout. We can only correct an address before dispatch.
- If a parcel is returned to us as undeliverable, we will contact you to arrange reshipment; a further shipping charge may apply.
- Every shipment is tracked. In the rare case of loss or transit damage, contact us and we will open a claim with the carrier and resolve it with you. Please keep the packaging until the matter is settled.
